Every month brings something new to discover at Renishaw Hills, whether it’s a rare bird sighting, a quiet moment in nature, or a beautiful story captured by one of our residents.
Here is what’s been “spotted” recently around the estate:

Take a quick tour through the our indigenous gardens professionally designed by Dr. Elsa Pooley. This is just a small peek at the winter biodiversity defining our region right now.
From our rehabilitated wetlands to the striking winter blooms, there is beauty everywhere you look. Whether you are exploring our 40km of hiking and cycling trails or simply enjoying the birdsong from your patio, life here is a constant reminder of the beauty of the KZN South Coast.

The Story Behind The Steel Bridge
The revamp of our steel bridge is complete, and it’s more than a fresh coat of paint on the way into Renishaw Hills, it’s the latest chapter in a story that stretches back decades.
Long before it welcomed residents, this was simply a farm road, used by horses and tractors as far back as 1979, when the Renishaw office was built and the road as we know it began to take shape. Then the N2 highway arrived and the one-way bridge over the freeway followed soon after.
When the planning for Renishaw Hills began in 2015, the road was tarred, solar streetlights and a pedestrian walkway were added, making the journey in a little safer and a little more special. Along the verge, an avenue of Common Coral Trees still line the way, some are originals from the old dirt road, and others have grown from the cuttings of those very trees 🌳
And then there’s the bridge itself, designed by ZAARC Architects, its steel structure was shaped by the wetland below, echoing reeds and foliage rising from the water, a fitting tribute to a landscape that spent over a century under sugarcane before being restored to its natural state.
So the next time you cross that bridge, take a moment to notice it because every reed-like curve of steel and every coral tree along the road, is a small reminder that this place was loved into being, long before it became home 💚
