Summer activities on the South Coast

The festive season is here and if you’re anything like us, summer is definitely our favourite part of the year. Thanks to glorious weather and more days of sunshine, we’ve got ample opportunities to enjoy all that summer and the South Coast have to offer. It’s also what helps our residents live the holiday. If you’re in the area and wondering what you could get up to, here are a few ideas.

A trip to Crocworld

A must for little and big kids alike, Crocworld is the ultimate way to combine education with adventure. From crocs, to snakes, flamingos and even an animal farm, there’s no shortage of things to see. There’s a restaurant on-site as well so you can grab a bite. It’s also a conservation centre, so you’ll be doing a bit of good for the animals if you do decide to visit.

A picnic on the beach

President Cyril Ramaphosa has cited that all beaches must be closed during the festive season’s public holidays. This doesn’t mean that you can’t still enjoy them on all the other days. Why not pack a picnic basket, complete with your masks and head down to one of our beautiful beaches?

A sundowner at the Blue Marlin Hotel

With great views of our spectacular shoreline, Blue Marlin Hotel provides a picturesque setting to enjoy a sundowner or two. Head to the Ibis Bar where the drinks are cold and you’re always guaranteed good company. If a cup of coffee is more your thing, we hear they make a good one too.

A pizza at Enzo’s

Excellent pizzas can be hard to find. Luckily, you don’t have look too far as long as you venture to Enzo’s. A favourite hangout for locals, a delicious menu and relaxed atmosphere make it a must for your summer to-do list. The owners describe it as an authentic Italian Experience alongside the South Coast sun. If you’re feeling particularly peckish, why not try one of their footlong Colzonicino?
