“Who could want anything more?”

– Judy Pews (Resident)

Located within the Renishaw Coastal Precinct near Scottburgh on the mid-South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, Renishaw Hills is just 45 minutes from Durban. Known for sunny weather, stunning views, beautiful beaches and laidback living, it forms the perfect back drop for retiring well. With every element carefully considered, all residents at Renishaw Hills live the holiday through our location, climate, activities and convenient amenities that they just wouldn’t get anywhere else.

An (Almost) Endless Summer

Our warm Indian Ocean and sub-tropical climate means an average of 320 days of sunshine a year. South Coast winters also tend to hover around 20°C, with the summer temperatures ranging between 24° and 32°C on average. This is one of many reasons why those from colder provinces are flocking to get their daily dose of vitamin D.

With so many reasons to live the holiday, why not make every day of your retirement feel like a blissful vacation? Click here for more on how we help our residents do just that.

A COMMITMENT TO CONSERVATION

Our location within Renishaw Coastal Precinct has allowed us to be part of a programme that nurtures indigenous flora and fauna. We’re also playing our role in the re-establishment of coastal forest, grasslands and wetlands as part of a long-term rehabilitation plan initiated a few years ago.

Soon, Renishaw Coastal Precinct will be made up of several interconnected residential and commercial villages, making every home beautiful and convenient. Of the Precinct, twenty five hectares are devoted to Renishaw Hills, giving residents ample living space and enabling greenery and local wildlife to flourish.

Conservation starts at home so we rely on the following for a lighter carbon footprint:

  • Solar panels
  • Passive cooling
  • Large windows and wide patios for natural ventilation

SPECTACULAR INDIGENOUS GARDENS

A short walk through our lush indigenous gardens is an impressive adventure in itself. It’s something we are proud to be recognised for by organisations like the Botanical Society. With Dr Elsa Pooley at the helm, every plant at Renishaw Hills has its place and is thriving. This ensures that our village is water-wise and attracts a host of local birdlife.

All landscaping has been executed in line with a strict Landscaping and Environmental Protocol. It also includes open spaces that frame picturesque sea and forest views, whilst providing beautiful spaces for residents to enjoy as they choose.

For avid gardeners, our gardens are a place of solace where they can create a space they feel at home in. For those that lack green fingers, all gardens are maintained as part of the monthly levy.
