The recycling initiative started by a few passionate homeowners has grown into a wonderful example of what can be achieved when people come together.
Every week, more and more residents sort their waste, separate recyclables, and share tips on how to make the process easier. It’s inspiring to see how simple actions, driven by care for our environment and community, have become part of everyday life here.
Making Headlines on the Mid-South Coast
Beyond the estate, the Renishaw team has been working alongside local groups to help keep Scottburgh looking its best. From verge maintenance and litter clean-ups to repainting key landmarks, these efforts reflect a shared pride in our beautiful region.
One recent example is the Scottburgh town circle, where the clock has been freshly repainted, new signage installed, and the gardens maintained weekly. It’s a small contribution, but one that makes a visible difference for residents and visitors alike.
We’ve also been proud to assist with a new awning for the lifeguards at Scottburgh Main Beach, replacing the old blue structure that had weathered too many summers. The new shelter provides shade and protection for the team that looks after everyone enjoying our coastline – a simple gesture that supports those who keep our beaches safe.
It’s because of this shared care for the environment – both within and beyond our gates – that Renishaw Hills continues to flourish as a haven for local wildlife. Residents often share sightings of wildlife scenes within the estate.
In one resident’s garden we had a mongoose families exploring the garden, the cheerful calls of Natal spurfowl greeting the morning, as well as a flash of green from a Klaas’s cuckoo perched nearby.
