One of the most extraordinary stories unfolding right now belongs to our resident Crowned Eagles, who have chosen the Renishaw farm as their nesting site once again this season.
Thanks to the dedicated watch of our resident birder, Tim McClurg, we’ve been able to quietly witness the entire life cycle:
For weeks, mum and dad have tirelessly provided for their young chick. Recently, Tim reported that the little one’s dark wing feathers have begun pushing through – a sure sign that it’s nearly strong enough to take its first flight.
Only a few more days in the nest… and then the adventure begins.
This extraordinary moment has become a magnet for birders and photographers, all drawn to Renishaw to experience nature at its most breathtaking.
If the Crowned Eagle is our royal guardian, then the Kingfishers are our jewels – flashing past in bursts of blue, chestnut, black and white.
